Recycling

  • Is your packaging recyclable?

It varies a little from product to product, so it’s best to check the information on the back of pack.

  • Why isn’t all your packaging recyclable?

We want your fish to be in excellent condition when it gets to you – and we certainly don’t want any leaks. At the moment, the only way to make sure of this is to use compound materials that are not yet recyclable. As soon as there’s a brilliant recyclable alternative, we’d love to move over to it.

Responsible fishing

  • Why does sustainable fishing matter?

Sustainability is vital if we all want to keep enjoying fish for years to come, so we only source from fisheries who share our passion for sustainability. We know exactly what they’re doing to reduce their impact on the oceans, and we work closely with them to find other areas for improvement.

Visit our Sustainability page for more info.

  • What does it mean to be MSC certified?

MSC certification is an assurance that the seafood you’re eating meets the highest standards for sustainable fishing. The MSC badge is widely accepted as the leading stamp of approval when it comes to the sustainability of fisheries. It is made up of three key principles: healthy fish stocks, minimised impact on the environment and effective management to deliver these outcomes.

Head over to our Sustainability page to find out more.

  • Is all your fish fully traceable?

Yes it is. We can trace our fish back to the boats that caught it.

Read more about this on our Sustainability page.

Storage and cooking

  • Can I freeze your products?

Yes, you can freeze the vast majority of our fish. Full info is on the back of pack.

  • Can your fish be cooked from frozen?

No, all of our fish should be fully defrosted before cooking. If it’s frozen, keep it in the fridge for at least 24 hours before cooking, to allow it to thaw out properly.

  • How long can your products be frozen for?

Any of our fish that are suitable for freezing should be eaten within six months of going in the freezer. After defrosting, cook and eat within one day.

  • What’s the best way to cook your fish?

That very much depends on the type of fish! The best thing to do is check the on-pack instructions. And remember, all cooking equipment is different, so think of these instructions as a guide only.
